How can I keep my vinyl table cloth from sliding?

I have little boys that lean on and pull the ends of a vinyl felt backed tablecloth right off the table. I like all the fun seasonal tablecloths, does anyone have any tips to help stop the thing from sliding all over? I do not want to sew elastic around the bottom, although I have done that before. I am looking for a quick fix, like can I put something on the top of my wood table first that won’t ruin the table top like a tacky substance?
