How to protect a painted coffee table?

I am going to paint my coffee table with a design and don’t want it to get scratched, what can I use to seal/protect my painted table?
This table is used alot so it needs to be durable.

    Table would recomend you have just done on the table from unwanted staining hope this helps bit.

    Apply a few coats of `liquid plastic`. It has a lovely sheen. Good luck.

    For desk and dresser that painted gives nice finishing touch.
