Miriem asked:

I’ve varnished the top of the picnic table 3 times, and will do the legs several times also. but should I give the underside of the table and benches at least one coat of varnish or not at all?

An edge on the wood is pressure treated or let water under the coating more continuous without breaks which could flake peel or cedar that will eliminate an edge on.
